The businessman who was believed to have been kidnapped by two builders on Tuesday, was found dead in a drain
A 27-year-old Delhi businessman was found dead in Ghaziabad late on Friday night after he went missing on Tuesday, November 7. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Rahul Saxena whose body was recovered by Ghaziabad police from a drain in Ghaziabad's Kavi Nagar.
"On Tuesday, Rahul texted my number informing me that he had come to Rohini sector 32 with two builders, Sellu and Brijendra.
He mentioned that these builders belong to sector 22 in Rohini and that sensed something was wrong about them," said Himani Saxena, Rahul's sister.
Rahul had also texted the same message to his employees when he had left the showroom on November 7 and since then he had been missing.
"When he didn't return to his home or the showroom and his phone was switched off, we informed the police at Sultanpuri police station, Himani added.
She claimed that the officers did not show any seriousness in investigating the matter and it was only 24 hours later, when the family again approached the police did they file a complaint.
Contradicting the family's claim the local DCP said that the case under section 365 (Assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour person, otherwise than on grave provocation) of IPC was registered on Tuesday and investigation was taken up.
"After the ransom call, under section 364A (kidnapping for ransom) was added in the case,"he SAID.
Himani also stated that on Wednesday, the family had received a ransom call of Rs. 20 lakh and a warning. "We received the ransom call in the afternoon and immediately informed police about it. When we checked with the police about any clue in the case we did not get any confirmation from them. We then started arranging for the money and by the evening we had arranged approximately Rs, 10 lakh,"she said.
"We were waiting for the kidnappers to call for the address to deliver money but we never got any call from them," she added.
