Neighbours have said the family was religious, and never had any issues with anyone.
Two members of the Bhatia family rubbished the police's theory of mass suicide, and said it was a case of murder being hushed up.
Sujata Nagpal, eldest daughter of Narayani Bhatia, said, "The police is trying to cover up the case. My family members cannot commit suicide. We're not aware of any spiritual or mystical practice followed by our family."
"Someone killed them. This family never believed in babas," she said. She lives in Haryana's Panipat.
Her son Ketan Nagpal, said, "We have not seen the so-called notes that mention any such practice."
