A 24-year-old woman was shot dead by two unidentified miscreants on a bike in Rajender Nagar area of Ghaziabad on Thursday.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Rama Chaturvedi, an assistant manager in a call center in Noida. The incident took place around 10 am when Chaturvedi stepped out of her building premises to go tooffice.

"I was returning home from a nearby market when I saw two men on a bike with their faces covered. They open fired two bullets at Rama and fled," said an eyewitness.

The incident happened so fast that the nearby people didn't have time catch them.

"Everything happened at the blink of an eye. We could not chase them or note the number of their bike" he added.

A PCR call was made and the police reached the spot. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.

"We have registered a case of murder against two unknown people. Rama succumbed to the bullet injuries in the building itself," said RK Rathi, Station House Officer, Rajendra Nagar.

According to a police official, primary investigation revealed that it seemed like a planned murder as someone knew her office timings.

"We are trying to trace the clues and find out more about the case. Further investigations are underway," said a senior official.
