Bawana teacher murder: Middleman arrested by Delhi Police

The Delhi Police has arrested 30-year-old Deepak who acted as a middleman between Manjeet husband of the school teacher Sunita who was shot dead in Bawana last Sunday. The police had earlier arrested Manjeet, his girlfriend Angel Gupta and his girlfriend's so-called father Rajeev in connection with the murder case of a school teacher in Bawana.

According to investigating officials, Rajeev told the police that Deepak worked as his driver for the last decade or so. Rajeev was aware that Sunita was a hindrance in the relationship of Manjeet and Angel. He roped in Deepak and asked him to arrange for contract killers in order to execute the plan. Manjeet and Rajeev did not have much money with them and Angel provided them around Rs 2.5 lakhs.

"Rajeev handed over the money as the advance to Deepak who in-turn hired two persons to execute the plan. The two who fired at Sunita are yet to be arrested. Police are conducting raids in order to apprehend the accused," said a senior police official. Deepak was arrested from his hideout on the instance on Rajeev.

The needle of suspicion pointed at Sunita's husband Manjeet after family members revealed that the couple were having troubles in their marriage as Manjeet would most of the times live at Angel's house in RK Puram area. In the diary recovered from Sunita's residence, police found notes she had written on various occasions describing how troubled she was with the relationship and underdoing emotional turmoil.

"Tum kaise pati ho jo apni patni ko maarna ya talaq lena chahta ho ( What kind of a husband are you that you want to kill me or divorce me )" read the diary. Sunita's daughter during her questioning had informed the police about the diary her mother wrote at times. It was on her instance that the police recovered the diary.

The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested Manjeet (38) his girlfriend Angel Gupta (26) and Rajeev so-called father of Angel Gupta.

Police claimed that they conspired to eliminate her as she used to object the relationship between her husband and another woman.

Manjeet and Angel met at a club in Delhi around six years ago following which they fell in love and developed a relationship over a period of time. Manjeet would stay at his house as well but would mostly stay with Angel.

Manjeet has three previous criminal involvements including cases of immoral trafficking, cheating and threading a person.
