8 burglars who targeted posh colonies of South-East Delhi nabbed

Eight persons including a famous dancer have been arrested for carrying out several burglaries in posh colonies of South-East Delhi. The accused have previous criminal involvements.

According to the police, the accused have been identfied as Depak (30), Arun Kumar (23), Harsh (22), Captain (21), Ankit Parcha (24), Vishal (22), Akash (22) and Aiman (32). Investigating officials stated that they had received a complaint from a man identified as Amarjeet Singh Marwah who stated that some persons barged into his house and decamped with jewellery and valuable items from the house. The police registered a case and took up the investigation.

Chinmoy Biswal, Deputy Commissioner Of Police, South-East, said, "After analysing the CCTV footage, two suspects on a motorcycle were spotted near the house where they had previously carried out a burglary."

The accused were identified as Deepak and Arun. They were arrested from outer delhi's Bhalaswa dairy on Wednesday noon. "They told the police the name of their associates and the vehicles used in the commission of the crime.

Thereafter, their partners Harsh, Captain, Ankit Parcha, Vishal, Akash and Aiman were also arrested from Bhalswa Dairy area," added Biswal.

Deepak is the leader of the gang. They had two chinese mobile phones which were used as walkie-talkie during the robberies. Before committing the theft, they used to carry out a recee and later targeted the house and return to carry out the burglary. They would come there on vehicles with the house breaking tools. Deepak used to come after the commission of theft to see the after effects whether they had left some clue or if they have been captured in any cameras.

The gang members would leave the city if they saw cameras near the crime location. House breaking tools, stolen jewelleries worth Rs 9-10 lakh, one pair shoes, one motorcycle, one car were recovered from his possession.

Modus operandi

• The burglars mostly targeted posh residential areas in South-East Delhi.  
• They had two Chinese phones which they used as walkie-talkie during the theft.
