According to the police, Rabani, a plumber by profession, was on Monday night, drilling a hole in the road in order to connect a pipe. While drilling a hole in the road, he suddenly started shivering and collapsed soon after. Locals who spotted him rushed to his help but he lay unconscious. He was rushed to AIIMS where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival. Rabani is survived by his wife and three children; two daughters and a son.

Prima facie it appears that while he was drilling the hole, another underground cable could have been the reason behind the current because of which the plumber got electrocuted.

Police officials are also investigating if any cables of illegal bore-well were present in the ground. Further investigations are underway in the case.
