A 30-year-old man was shot dead after criminals fired indiscriminately at him while he was eating at a food stall in Outer Delhi's Rohini area on Monday afternoon.
Ravi Bhardwaj was at the foot stall with his associate when the incident took place. Over two dozens of rounds were fired at him and the incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the area.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 1:30 pm on Monday when Bhardwaj, along with his associate, stopped his i20 car to have Chole Bhature from a roadside stall in Rohini area. Four armed assailants in a Honda City car came and opened fire at him. The CCTV footage shows four men in the car stopping in front of Bhardwaj's car and then one of them walks up to him and opens fire. As the pistol of the accused attacker got jammed, Bhardwaj tried to escape but was fired upon at least 6-8 times again until he collapsed.
A passerby informed the police who then rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Bhardwaj is stated to be a member of Tillu gang and their rival gang of Jitender alias Gogi is suspected to be involved in the killing. Bhardwaj is an accused in a murder case, however, the police are yet to verify this.
