Two women were assaulted by a group of men after they objected to them driving the car in a rash and negligent manner in South-West Delhi's Vasant Kunj area on Thursday. The accused men not only hit the women but also kept threatening and abusing them.On Thursday, a 27-year-old woman alleged that she and her sister-in-law were assaulted by a group of men who were driving rashly. The woman, in her complaint, stated that she along with her 22-year-old sister-in-law were returning to their farm from Kishangarh market when a car being rashly driven came towards them. The speed of the car was so much that the woman fell on the ground. The two women then warned the men and asked them to drive properly after which the situation turned ugly.The man driving the car and his friends got out of the car and abused the two women. One of the accused also tried to drag one of the women inside the car. A passerby, riding a motorcycle, also made a video of the crime on his mobile phone. The video shows a Wagon-R car driving rashly making the women fall. When the women object, the men hurl abuses at them.Meanwhile, the women started walking ahead but the driver of the Wagon-R got agitated and abused them constantly. The car then sped up and again tried to scare the two women, who were walking on the side of the road by then.The women raised an alarm and tried to run, but suddenly another car came there and allegedly assaulted them. The complainant alleged that the accused fled with her mobile phone also."A case under appropriate sections has been registered. During the course of the investigation, footages from the cameras were checked and a car was impounded. One of the accused identified as Pawan is absconding. Efforts are on to nab the remaining accused," said Milind Mahadeo Dumbere, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West).
