As a mark of respect, the teachers assembled at the University’s Council Hall of the Vice Regal Lodge and observed two-minutes of silence. “The academic fraternity of the Delhi University are deeply saddened by the loss of our nation’s beloved leader... We also celebrate his unparalleled contributions and achievement in the service of this nation... He brought poetry and purity both to the humdrum of India’s politics and it’s this unique characteristic that set him apart from other contemporaries,” the University Registrar said in a statement.
