Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh faced heavy criticism from netizens after he and veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh pledged support to ex-Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi's foundation in fight against coronavirus.
It all started after Yuvraj Singh posted a video on Twitter asking people to donate to Afridi's foundation. He wrote, "These are testing times, it’s time to look out for each other especially the ones who are lesser fortunate. Lets do our bit, I am supporting @SAfridiOfficial & @SAFoundationN in this noble initiative of covid19. Pls donate on http://donatekarona.com #StayHome @harbhajan_singh".
Soon Afridi replied saying, "Thank you for all you support-both yourself & my brother @harbhajan_singh are huge pillars of support; this bond we have shown love & peace transgresses borders when it comes to humanity especially. Best wishes to you with your noble endeavors with @YOUWECAN #DonateKaroNa".

However, soon the peace-loving exchange in the time of crises turned into hatred as some netizens slammed them for supporting Pakistan. Some even questioned the duo about their contribution to Indians.
Seeing all the backlash, Yuvraj Singh put out a post saying that he won't stop doing good for humanity and that he is truly an Indian.
"I really don't understand how a msg to help the most vulnerable gets blown out of proportion! All I tried to achieve via that msg was to help ppl in our respective countries by providing healthcare, my intention was not to hurt anyone's feelings. I'm an Indian and I will always bleed blue and will always stand for humanity. Jai Hind," Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

As India and Pakistan continue to battle this deadly virus, cricketers have been showing their support for relief works. As far as India's are concerned, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Anil Kumble, Ajinkya Rahane and more have contributed through the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund.
In Pakistan, Afridi's foundation is seeking donations to help people in these difficult times and several former Pakistan cricketers have lauded Afridi's efforts.
