English all-rounder Ben Stokes has revealed that he, accompanied by his fellow England teammates celebrated their Ashes third Test win in McDonald on a £55 order.
"We celebrated at the ground as a team before we went back to the team hotel to catch up with friends and family," Stokes told the Mirror.
"Me, Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Rory Burns and Joe Root all jumped in an Uber and got £55 worth of McDonald's drive-thru on the way.
"There were quarter pounders and filet 'o' fish flying everywhere," he added.
An extraordinary knock of 135 not out from all-rounder Ben Stokes secured England a thrilling one-wicket win in the third test match of the Ashes series on Sunday at Headingley.
The hosts finally levelled the score in the series against the Aussies at 1-1, with the home side successfully chasing down a record target of 359 in an eventful match.
Stokes signed off by saying, "I'm ready for the last couple of laps at Old Trafford and then the Oval. I'm not interested in how my life might change or anything like that just yet because there is still more to be done."
"There are two more Tests to come and we want to win those Ashes back so let's wait and see how the summer ends before we start talking about things like that."
England started the day four action hoping to prevent Australia from retaining the Ashes. England were 286-9 and still needed 73 more runs from the target score.
Australia only needed a win to ensure a series defeat was out of the equation but things did not turn out the way they hoped for.
