Pakistan crickter Shoaib Malik has announced his retirement from ODI cricket. Malik announced his decision after Pakistan's last game in World Cup 2019 against Bangladesh. Malik said in the post-game press conference that he wants to spend more time with his family and focus on T20 cricket.

Shoaib Malik is married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. They had recently welcomed their first baby.

Malik had last year announced that he will retire from ODI cricket after the World Cup. Malik, 37, played just three matches for Pakistan in the ongoing World Cup, scoring just eight runs (including two ducks).

He also had to face a lot of criticism after Pakistan's loss to India at Edgbaston on June 16. A video had gone viral which claimed that Malik and few other Pakistani cricketers were partying and socializing on the night prior to the much-anticipated clash against India.
