From early tea due to bad light to some drizzle along the way, Day 2 - which saw the start of the World Test Championship (WTC) - was not was the players or fans expected. The game in Southampton saw only 64.4 overs of play as India finished at 146/3 with skipper Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane in the middle, having stitched a partnership of 58 runs.

New Zealand had won the toss and chose to bowl first and after almost two days of rain in Southampton, Kohli said that he would have also liked to bowl first but he wouldn't mind runs on the board as Kiwis will be the ones to bat in the fourth innings.

With so much happening at the Rose Bowl, what will the Southampton weather on Day 3 look like?

Rain and Test matches in England go hand in hand and seeing a five-day game in the UK not getting interrupted by the weather is a rare sight.

While persistent rain on Day 1 didn't even allow the toss to take place, a significant amount of play took place on the second day.

How will the weather behave on Day 3?

According to Accuweather.com, the conditions on the third day won't be cricket friendly as a considerable part of the play is expected to get washed out.

Dark clouds could be dominating the sky, with the precipitation level also being on the higher side. The morning session will also see wind gusts coming in the equations. Notably, a reserve day is in place to make up for the lost time.
