Proof of his popularity was on display recently after the 28-year-old posted a Teacher's Day message on social media.

On Teachers' Day, the Indian skipper paid tributes to all the teachers in the world. Kohli made a special mention to all those who inspired him to play cricket.

He shared a picture on his twitter account paying tribute to all these cricket heroes. In the picture, Virat is seen sitting in front of wall bearing the names of the many successful cricketers who have inspired not only Virat but many others also. He wrote, "To all the teachers around the world and especially to the ones in the Cricket world. #HappyTeachersDay"

Apart from mentioning Indian legends like Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni, Kohli's tweet also featured the names of former Pakistani skippers Inzamam-ul-Haq, Javed Miandad and Imran Khan.

While India and Pakistan share bitter rivalry, the cricket fans from Pakistan appreciated the Indian skipper following his tweet.

It was followed by a rather interesting conversation between two Pakistani nationals.

India completed an overwhelmingly successful tour of Sri Lanka, winning every international match - 3-0 in the Tests, 5-0 in the ODIs and 1-0 in the lone T20I. Team India is all set to battle Australia in a limited overs series next.

"This is gonna be a tough tour. India have been playing some good cricket for a while now and they had a very successful tour of Sri Lanka. So, it's going to be a good challenge for this (Australia) group. We are excited about it," said Smith in a press conference on Sunday.

The series against Australia will begin with an ODI in Chennai on September 17, followed by matches in Kolkata, Indore, Bangalore and Nagpur.
