Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan said that the decision by the Bangladesh cricketer to go a strike is a conspiracy to promote negativity towards the sport in the country.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmadullah are some of the more popular cricketers who voiced their demands during a press conference at National Cricket Academy in Dhaka on Monday.

The Bangladeshi cricketers decided to make themselves unavailable until all of their 11 demands are met by the BCB.

While speaking to a local newspaper Daily Star on Tuesday (22 October) during a press conference, Hassan said, “We will find who is behind this conspiracy.”

The BCB president though denied to reveal any plans about their next move after a meeting in Mirpur, the report also added.

On Monday (21 October), Shakib while speaking to the media said that everyone is in support of the move and they won't be making them available until their demands are met.

“We did not include Under-19 team here as they are preparing for the World Cup. Everybody else is here and we know everybody is with us. We are not going to involve in cricket. Unless our demand is fulfilled we are not coming back to cricket,” Shakib said.

“Beside age level cricketers 19, 17 and 15, everybody in national team and domestic cricket is involved here and it starts from today. This is applicable from domestic cricket and first-class cricket to international cricket,” he added.

According to reports, the Bangladesh cricketers demands include the retraction of the BCB's decision to abandon the Bangladesh Premier League's (BPL) franchise-based model from last month.

The announcement made regarding BPL resulted in the reduction of the average professional cricketer's wages to an all-time low. BCB also did not increase match fees in the tournament that kicked off earlier this month.
