Kiwi cricketer Tom Latham on Saturday morning held on to an absolutely world-class catching during New Zealand's second Test match against India at Hagley Oval.

Team India opener Prithvi Shaw looked like a man on a mission as he played some flamboyant shots early on day one in Christchurch.

The Mumbai batter played some eye-catching strokes and secured his second Test half-century off 61 delivers.

With this, the youngster also became the 2nd youngest Indian batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to smash a 50 in Tests in New Zealand.

However, his stay at the crease was cut short right after by Kyle Jamieson who brought an end to Shaw's surging innings of 54 runs off 64 balls just moments before lunch thanks to Latham.

Prithvi misjudged Jamieson's change in length and ended up knocking an edge to it. Latham, who was fielding at second slip, leaped like a salmon and pulled off a mindblowing one-handed catch to provide his side with a key wicket.
