Virat Kohli and Tim Paine have been exchanging verbal blows in the whole second Test match in Perth. The skippers have been involved in an ongoing war of words for the last two days.  While Kohli and Paine had exchanged heated words on day three, they almost came to a blow on day four and the umpire had to separate then during Australia's second innings.

Later during India's second innings, Paine turned to Murali Vijay and made an comment related to the Indian captain.

He was caught by the stumps mic saying, "I know he's your captain but you can't seriously like him as a bloke."

It is just the next chapter in the war of words between the two captains.

It all started after some exchange of words on Sunday. The incident happened after the visitors went for a huge caught-behind appeal in the final over of the day. The stump microphones picked up Virat Kohli saying, "if he messes it up, it's 2-0," while referring to the Test series lead. Tim Paine promptly replied: "You've got to bat first, big head".

On Monday, they resumed their verbal duel, forcing on-field umpire Chris Gaffaney to warn both the players on the fourth morning of the second Test between India and Australia.

During the 71st over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, the respective captains were seen exchanging words after Kohli decided to field close to the non-striker and Gaffaney had to step in.

“You’re the one that lost it yesterday. Why are you trying to be cool today?” Paine told Kohli.

“That’s enough, that’s enough,” Gaffaney interrupted.

“Come on, play the game. You guys are the captains. Tim, you’re the captain.” Paine replied: “We’re just having a conversation. There’s no swearing … keep your cool Virat.”

Kohli said something which couldn’t be picked up by the microphones. A couple of balls later, the warring duo almost came close to chest bumping when the India skipper walked in front of Paine while he was completing a run.
