England cricketer Tom Banton is currently grabbing all the headlines for the right reason by letting his bat do all the talking in the shortest format of the game.

The Brisbane Heat opener on Monday (January 6) showed his hard-hitting class again when he smashed five consecutive sixes during his side's Big Bash League 2019-20 match.

Banton was in top form on the day as he took on the Sydney Thunder bowlers to put on a grand show at the Sydney Showground Stadium.

The away side got off to a brilliant start thanks to a smashing opening partnership between Chris Lynn and Banton for the first wicket.

However, Thunder's Arjun Nair was the one who received the most bashing as Tom whacked the Australian bowler for five sixes during his very first over.

The 21-year-old also registered the second-quickest fifty in BBL history when he stormed to his half-century off just 16 deliveries and helped his side score 119 runs in just eight overs and win the game by 16 runs in the end.

Banton's hard-hitting also earned him a big-money move to the two times Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
