Team India after having a good day with the bat on the first of the three-day warm-up game, came back strongly with the ball as well after losing the last wicket in the third over of the second day. Pacer Umesh Yadav starred in what was a collective effort from all the six bowlers as they reduced the County Select XI to 220/9 at the stumps on the second and the penultimate day of the match.

Resuming their innings on the overnight score of 306/9, Team India lost their final wicket in form of pacer Jasprit Bumrah to pacer Craig Miles, as they could add only five more runs to the score.

The County side were pretty sedate at the start but the visitors didn't take much time to get amongst the wickets as Umesh Yadav drew the first blood in form of Jake Libby. Jasprit Bumrah, from the other end, sent back Rob Yates getting him caught behind.

The wickets kept falling, however, it didn't deter Nottinghamshire batsman Haseeb Hameed, who is in the England squad for the first two Tests, to play his game and stay at one end. Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, all the six bowlers got into the action as the wickets kept tumbling from the other end.

But Hameed stayed diligent and completed a fabulous century and helping his side go beyond 170. Hameed was eventually scalped out by Shardul but not before he scored 112 runs smashing 13 fours. Umesh was the star with the ball with 3/22, followed by Siraj who took 2/32.

County Select Xi ended the day after losing nine wickets and still trailing by 91 runs.
