The skipper had a blast on his 33rd birthday, as his troops hammered Scotland by 8 wickets and managed to keep their outside chances of reaching the semi-finals hope alive.

Talking at the post-match presentation, when asked how was he going to celebrate his birthday, the captain said he could not have asked for a better present, however, he hinted at muted celebrations back in the team hotel.

Kohli stressed the importance of having his wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika alongside him in Dubai on a special day, especially in the time of bio-bubble.

"I think I am over that phase now. No, I mean, my family is here. Anushka and Vamika are here. That's celebration enough for me. Just having families around in these times in bio-bubble life is very difficult. That's a blessing in itself. The team has been amazing. Everyone wished me," Kohli added.

As far as the clash is concerned, riding on an 18-ball fifty from KL Rahul and a quickfire 30 from Rohit Sharma, India chased down 86 runs in just 6.3 overs.

This win helped them push their Net Run Rate (NRR) ahead of New Zealand and even Afghanistan. Not the Men in Blue have moved from the 5th spot of the Group 2 points table to the 3rd.

India will need a similar performance against Namibia as well, but will also want Afghanistan to beat New Zealand, as a win for the Black Caps on Sunday will eliminate India and Afghanistan from the semi-final race.
