A day after Twitter was aghast over Virat Kohli's suggestion that those who don't like watching Indian batters can consider migrating, ace commentator Harsha Bhogle has lent his voice to the controversy.  In a series of tweets, Bhogle explained how a 'bubble' often results in players getting cut-off from reality and why they need to listen to contrarian point of views.

Bhogle tweeted,

According to Bhogle, " Virat Kohli's statement is a reflection of the bubble that most famous people either slip into or are forced into. The voices within it are frequently those that they wish to hear. It is a comfortable bubble and that is why famous people must try hard to prevent it from forming".  In perhaps a reflection to his experience with the Indian team, Bhogle said. "That is also why contrary opinions are frowned upon. Power and fame tend to attract those people who agree with you and reinforce your opinion because they benefit from proximity to fame and power."

In essence, Bhogle believes that Kohli who is currently the best player in the world is living in a bubble where they are only hearing what they want to hear. Hence, such asinine reaction to a fan's question was given, believes Harsha Bhogle. During the promotion of his app, Kohli suggested, perhaps in jest, that those who didn’t like watching Indian batsmen ought to consider migrating.

A fan had said: “An over-rated batsman and personally I see nothing special in his batting. I enjoy watching English and Australian batsmen more than these Indians.”

This led Kohli to reply: “Okay, I don’t think you should live in India then… you should go and live somewhere else no. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me, but I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right.”

If one may recall, Harsha Bhogle too faced the ire of Amitabh Bachchan and MS Dhoni for criticising India's performance during the World T20 in 2016. It lead to his temporary ouster from broadcasting too before he was reinstated.
