Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Indian captain Ajit Wadekar.

Vajpayee, three-time prime minister of India, passed away on Thursday evening. Wadekar, known for leading India to big Test series wins overseas in 1971, passed away on Wednesday.

Kohli, who is getting ready for the third test against England at Trent Bridge, took to twitter to express his grief over the passing aways of these two stalwarts.

Kohli tweeted, "A sombre day for us as we mourn the loss of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji and Legendary Indian Captain Ajit Wadekar sir. May your souls rest in peace. India and its millions will always remember you fondly."
