'Too expensive to afford': Shane Warne clears air on India coaching job
Warne called out the comments on his Twitter account and said it's 'disappointing journalism'
Shane Warne has cleared the air on 'too expensive to afford' comment on Wednesday, saying it was tongue-in-cheek.
On Tuesday, the Australia was quoted as saying by Mid-Day, "I am very expensive, I don’t think they can afford me. Virat Kohli and me can have a good partnership, but as I said, I am very, very expensive."
A day after the comment, Warne took to micro-blogging site and tweeted that his comments were taken in a lift and were tongue-in-cheek.
He continued by tweeting that the quote about Indian captain Virat Kohli was made up and called it 'disappointing journalism.'
Currenly, the BCCI and Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators are in the process of finding new head coach for Team India after speculations about a rift between Kohli and Anil Kumble are making rounds.
Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, dodda Ganesh and Lalchand Rajput are the other contenders apart from the incumbent Anil Kumble.
