Bowling first Madurai Panthers had restricted Dindigul Dragons for 117 runs. However, Dragons' left-arm spinner M Silambarasan snapped up three in the very first over to give his side some hope.

However, Arun Karthik scored 75 runs off 50 balls to keep his team on the course. The tournament's highest run-scorer hit four big sixes in his innings.

He stitched together a partnership of 117 runs with Shijit Chandran (38*) for the fourth wicket and carried the Panthers past the finish line with 17 balls to spare.

Earlier, Dragons lost three wickets quickly after being put in to bat.

Captain N Jagadeesan scored a half century (51 off 43 balls) as Dragons eventually folded for a modest 117.
