Despite the ICC U19 World Cup ending on a controversial note, the overall tournament saw the rise of many future stars.

Now, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has named the U19 World Cup Team of the Tournament in which three Indians are included.

From the prolific Yashasvi Jaiswal to the highest wicket-taker Ravi Bishnoi were among three Indians.

Besides left-handed opener and leg-spinner, right-arm pacer Kartik Tyagi is also part of the 12-member team. The squad is led by World Cup-winning Bangladesh skipper Akbar Ali.

With 400 runs to his name in six innings at an astounding average of 133, Jaiswal topped the scoring chart comfortably and claimed the Player of the Tournament award.

Bishnoi topped the wicket-taking chart after he claimed 17 wickets in six matches with a miserly average of 10.64.

As for Tyagi, the bowler terrorised the opposing batsmen throughout the tournament with his swing and scalped 11 wickets at an average of 13.90.

Not just Akbar, Shahdat Hossain and Mahmudul Hasan Joy from Bangladesh make it to the squad, while Afghanistan and West Indies have two players each. Canada’s Akil Kumar has been included as the 12th man.

The team was selected by an adjudication panel of five, which included commentators Ian Bishop, Rohan Gavaskar and Natalie Germanos joined by ESPN Cricinfo correspondent Sreshth Shah and ICC representative Mary Godbeer.

ICC U19 Cricket World Cup team of the tournament (in batting order): Yashasvi Jaiswal – India, Ibrahim Zadran – Afghanistan, Ravindu Rasantha – Sri Lanka, Mahmudul Hasan Joy – Bangladesh, Shahadat Hossain – Bangladesh, Nyeem Young – West Indies, Akbar Ali – Bangladesh (WK, Captain), Shafiqullah Ghafari – Afghanistan, Ravi Bishnoi – India, Kartik Tyagi – India, Jayden Seales – West Indies.
