India and Sri Lanka are all set for the New Year clash at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday (December 5).
While others partied hard, Rohit Sharma started his 2020 with a session of peaceful meditation with his wife Ritika at the global headquarters of Heartfulness in Kanha Shantivanam at Chegur on Friday (January 3).
The 32-year-old has been rested for India's three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, which starts on Sunday (December 5) but will return to the squad for Men In Blue's three-match ODI series against Australia.\
"As soon as I entered Kanha Shantivanam I felt an environment of positivity. It's very true when you are close to nature there is so much positivity and meditation will be more impactful," Rohit was quoted as saying by IANS.
"My experience with heartfulness meditation has been amazing and I felt so light and so positive. There is so much negativity around and we need to increase positivity and meditation can certainly help."
While speaking about the positive vibes he got from the place, Rohit said he would like to return to this place with his teammates as well.
"I know kids and youth want to have fun but it's important that meditation has to be on the top of the list that is how one can be aligned and stay in the game and can make the right decision and it is very important to be in the zone," he said.
