What it feels like when the 'God of cricket' reaches the 10000 run mark in ODIs? It was a celebration as not only did Sachin Tendulkar become the first batsman to reach the milestone but also the feat was achieved against Australia.

The legendary batsman was a treat to watch and on March 31, 2001, the Master Blaster was able to reach the milestone in Indore in just 259 innings. In the encounter against the Aussies, Tendulkar went on to score 139, helping India win the match by 118 runs.

For a very long time, Tendulkar was one of the fastest to achieve the feat, however, then came along Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper was able to reach the milestone in 205 innings.

Currently, in there ODIs, there are 14 batsmen in world cricket who have scored more than 10,000 runs.

As for now, Tendulkar is busy on social media asking countrymen to abide by the law and follow the government rules amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Taking to Twitter he shared a video post and wrote: “The government and doctors are the best judges on how to handle #COVID19. Everyone should adhere to their treatment advice. @MoHFW_INDIA.”

“As we go through a tough phase, it is important that all of us co-operate with each other. There are reports of patients running away from hospitals after being tested positive or those who have been advised to follow the home quarantine instructions are roaming outside,” Sachin said in a video.

“This will not help you or the community. The government is working with health experts and only they can help you recover in the best possible manner. So, it is important that we all follow their advice,” he said.
