England put a strong total of 188 runs in the first innings of the warm-up game against India in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 owing to a late flourish by Moeen Ali and a 52-run partnership in the middle overs between Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone.

Mohammed Shami and Jaspit Bumrah bowled well while Ravichandran Ashwin controlled the middle phase but Bhuvneshwar Kumar was taken to the cleaners after skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and put England in to bat.

Openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler started in their normal fashion taking on the bowlers but Mohammed Shami with his accurate line and length dismissed both of them in the same over. Rahul Chahar dismissed Dawid Malan cheaply and India had reduced England to 77/3 in the 10th over.

However, Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone bossed the middle overs, bowled by Chahar and Ravichandran Ashwin as they stitched a quick 52-run stand off just 33 balls as they were now looking for a score around 180 runs.

Shami dismissed Livingstone while Bumrah removed Bairstow but Moeen Ali had other ideas as like he has done all year for Chennai Super Kings provided the finishing touches to England's innings scoring 43 runs off just 20 balls as he punish Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who gave away 54 runs in his four overs.
