Former India captain and current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly suggested that Virat Kohli and co will be able to continue their domination over their arch-rivals Pakistan in the tournament opener in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021.

Ganguly, who was part of India's playing XIs in the 1999 World Cup and 2003 World Cup in which he was the captain, against Pakistan said that there is a huge possibility of India winning the game, giving his verdict before the highly-anticipated clash.

Speaking to ABP News, Ganguly said, "Yes, there is a huge possibility of 13-0 happening and India extending their unbeaten streak against Pakistan in this World Cup. All the players in this Indian team are genuine match-winners and fingers crossed, this team can finally end our 10 years wait of winning a world cup.

"Pakistan is also a good team. If one or two players click, then anything can happen. To win the mental battle is important. I feel it will be a great match."

India and Pakistan last faced each other in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, where the men in blue won the game comfortably, however it was the Pakistani team, who beat India comprehensively in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy.

"India won the World Cup in 2011, as well as in 2007. We played the final in 2003 and 2014. Even in 2017, we played Champions Trophy final but lost to Pakistan. Indian cricket is so strong that we will keep getting chances to play the final. Even this year we are hopeful. India is a big contender, but fingers crossed," he added.

India gave beaten Pakistan five times in the five matches in the T20 World Cup and they will be hoping to continue that run.
