T10 League fans were treated to some vintage Shahid Afridi as the veteran Pakistan all-rounder slammed 59 runs off just 17 balls taking Pakhtoons to the final of the T10 League on Saturday. Afridi, the icon player for Pakhtoons, rolled back the years as he played some of his signature shots against the helpless Northern Warriors side in semifinal 1 of T10 League 2018.

The Pakhtoons were in trouble at 57/4 after being put into bat when Afridi walked in to bat. The 37-year-old had scored just eight runs T10 League 201 so far. However, he chose the perfect day to get some. He hit 3 fours and 7 sixes in his 59 not out off 17 balls reminding everyone at the Sharjah stadium of those days when Afridi was at his best.

Pakhtoons posted a total of 135/5 in 10 overs. Their bowlers, led by Mohammad Irfan (2/20),  restricted the Northern Warriors to 122/4 giving them Pakhtoons a 13-run win.

Rovman Powell's 80 not out off 35 balls kept Warriors in the game but he couldn't finish the job. Warriors needed 24 runs off six balls but could add only 10 against Afghan left-arm spinner Sharafuddin Ashraf.

The win took Pakhtoons straight to final. However, Northern Warriors will have a chance to avenge this loss as they too made it to the final after winning the semifinal 2 against Maratha Arabians.
