Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has suggested Rishabh Pant to concentrate and improve his game plan during matches to find success.

Pant is currently receiving a lot of criticism from the fans for his recent performances in national colours.

Ever since Pant was brought in as Dhoni's replacement into the Indian squad, he has faced a lot of criticism from the fans.

The southpaw's form with the bat, wicket-keeping skills and his suggestion to skipper over DRS calls have all been below average and has caused a lot of people to raise fingers towards his selection in the national side.

“You have got to cash in (on your opportunities),” Shastri was quoted saying by India Today.

“Your work ethic should be solid. You have to have a solid approach to your batting. You can’t think everything is going to happen the way you want it to happen from ball one."

"No, it won’t happen like that. This game teaches you. There’s a method to madness as well. So, he has to learn that method,” he added.

Ravi also dropped a massive hint that Pant may be left out of the national squad so that he can play more domestic cricket and sharpen his skills.

“Sometimes, domestic cricket is good. There is less pressure in domestic cricket. He’s lucky that he has age on his side," he claimed.

“If he disappears for three months or six months, just to work on his game, people should not think he has been treated badly. Absolutely not. He will come back tougher and stronger, if there is a need for that to happen.”

India will be locking horns with West Indies again in the first ODI of the three-match series in Chennai on December 15.
