IPL 2019: After making a comeback last year, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday (March 22) launched their new pink jersey. The new jersey signifies their Pink City origin, along with the various other pink elements in Rajasthani culture.

Royals players Jaydev Unadkat, Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Steve Smith and Jos Butler sported the new- pink jerseys in an event organized in Jaipur on March 22. The jersey has the JK Lakshmi Cement logo out in the front.

Shailendra Chouksey, Whole Time Director, JK Lakshmi Cement, said: "It has been a power-packed journey for us as well as the Royals and the decision to continue our association was but natural. While both JK Lakshmi and Rajasthan Royals hail from the state, the aspiration of both partners is to constantly strive to rise, improve and scale newer heights."

Always in blue, last season, the franchise had played one match in pink jersey to create awareness about breast cancer. The initiative was a huge success, which prompted it to turn pink this season.

With Ajinkya Rahane all set to lead his side and with the return of Steven Smith, the Royals will kick-off their IPL tournament on March 25 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur against Kings XI Punjab.
