After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) did not expect to lose two quick wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
RCB skipper Virat Kohli during the toss had said that his side will be going in with only three overseas players with Dan Christian missing out Rajat Patidar - who is a spin specialist coming in.
However, Kohli himself fell for a spin and he was soon followed by Patidar as they both fell to Varun Chakravarthy in the same over.

Kohli's shot was stopped by a sensational catch by Rahul Tripathi. The ball was tossed up slower and drifted away from the right-hander. Kohli was nowhere near the pitch of the ball as he looked to go over cover with the drive.
He, however, ended up slicing it high and over cover and Tripathi ran back, kept his eyes on the ball and took a good tumbling catch, as the ball dropped in front of his right shoulder.
Soon after Rajat Patidar, who had come to the crease was bowled just for a run. The ball went right through Patidar and Chakravarthy struck twice in his first over.
He pushed the ball through flatter and drifted it back with the angle. Patidar stayed back on the clip but was beaten on the inside edge as the ball ricocheted off the back pad and then went on to hit the off-stump.
RCB did lose two quick wickets but Glenn Maxwell came in with a bang and even smashed a well deserved 50. He has the support of opener Devdutt Padikkal as the two have brought the score to 95 after 11 overs.
