While Pakistan's new batting superstar Fakhar Zaman was busy setting new records in ODI cricket in the fifth match against Zimbabwe, veteran Shoaib Malik joined an elite list too.
Malik completed 7,000 runs in one-day internationals on Sunday. He is the eighth Pakistan batsman to reach the milestone.
Malik also achieved a rare 'double' on the day. He became just the seventh cricketer to score 7000 runs and 150 wickets in ODIs. He is the second Pakistan player after Shahid Afridi to enter the club that also has players like Sanath Jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar.
The all-rounder achieved the feat in the fifth ODI between Pakistan and Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Malik scored 18-ball 15 to overhaul 7000-run mark in ODIs.
Malik now has 7012 runs and 156 wickets from 266 ODI matches.
While Sachin Tendulkar has the highest number of runs in this list with 18,426 runs, Afridi has the highest number of wickets with 395. Chris Gayle is the only other active player in the list.
