Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has expressed his thoughts on social media on Friday (February 21) on wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha's exclusion from India's playing 11 for the first Test match against New Zealand.

The Indian management picked Rishabh Pant to keep the stumps ahead of Saha, who in the past has been the first choice keeper for India in red-ball cricket.

Hasha was not happy with this news and took to Twitter to voice the disappointment over the case.

"Just up and see Saha is left out. We have just told every young keeper in India not to bother becoming the best in the world behind the stumps and instead focus on getting a few more runs in front of them. Disappointed," Harsha's post read on Twitter.

He then went to clarify his point and added how he no personal hard-feelings against Pant.

"Don't get me wrong. This isn't about Pant. Just think in tests you pick your best five batsmen, best four bowlers, best keeper and think about a secondary skill for number six, if at all."

"I hope he does well because he is a gifted young player but feel for Saha," Bhogle wrote.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and invited India to bat first.

Tim Southee struck early for the Blackcaps as he removed Prithvi Shaw (16) with an excellent outswinger.

Cheteshwar Pujara (11) and skipper Virat Kohli (2) were also sent back to the dressing room soon after by pacer Kyle Jamieson on his Test debut for the Kiwis.

At lunch, India were 79/3 after 28 overs with Agarwal and Ajinkya Rahane knitting together a decent partnership.

However, as soon as play resumed for the second session, Trent Boult and Jamieson added further misery to an already struggling Indian line by dismissing Mayank (34) and Hanuma Vihari (7) in back-to-back overs.

Going into the tea break, the visitors are 122/5 with Rahane (38*) and Pant (10*) trying to materialize a fightback at a windy Wellington.
