While all saw the batting collapse of the Mumbai Indians (MI) side, Delhi Capitals (DC) is also facing the same situation in the first doubleheader clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
The Rishabh Pant-led DC had won the toss and opted to bowl against MI at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday. However, the DC bowers did not allow the MI batsmen to play freely and restricted them to 129 runs as they lost eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
But when they came to bat first, DC batters also struggled as Shikhar Dhawan (8) and Prithvi Shaw (6) departed in quick succession and No 3 batsman Steve Smith (9) followed.
However, DC skipper Rishabh Pant (26) and Shreyas Iyer started getting the runs ticking, but it was Jayant Yadav who broke the partnership and got the big fish. This wicket was always on the cards with Pant's high-risk approach. He tried to take the off-spinner on, that too on the leg-side.
However, he mistimed it and the ball went straight down long-on's throat and Hardik Pandya took an easy catch. A few more overs of Pant could have really killed this game, but now things are in favour of MI.
The wicket got all netizens talking as they believe that Yadav is surely an underrated T20 bowler.

As for the clash, put in to bat first, Suryakumar Yadav and Quinton de Kock scored 33 and 19 runs respectively. Axar Patel scalped the wickets of Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav and Saurabh Tiwary while Avesh removed the dangerous Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Nathan Coulter-Nile.
