'It's a spin-friendly pitch' to 'why take him to England if he is going to warm the bench' - these are just some of the things fans have been asking the Indian team management and Virat Kohli for not including R Ashwin again in the match.

This is the fourth match in a row that will no Ashwin in the playing XI. The top-ranked player has been warming the bench since the beginning of the England series and last played in the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

So when the fourth Test was to begin all believed he will surely be part of the squad due to the spin-friendly pitch, however, when Kohli announced the squad, the two changes made did not see room for the spinner.

India made two changes as Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami have niggles and Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur come in to play. Soon after the toss, netizens took to Twitter to express their displeasure.

While some want to know the real reason to keep Ashwin out, some believe there is a rift between the two players and hence why the spinner is not in play.

As for the toss, Joe Root put India to bat first at Kennington Oval, London. England makes three changes - Ollie Pope is in for Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes comes in for Sam Curran.
