Shoaib Malik has decided to put his newborn son and wife ahead of his cricketing duties as he announced on Monday that he will not be participating in the upcoming edition of T10 League.

Malik, who plays for Punjab Legends, and his wife Sania Mirza were blessed with baby boy October 29.

Although India's ace tennis player, Sania, wants her husband to play in the T10 League 2018, the Pakistani cricketer has decided against it.

"I announce with mixed feelings that I will not be part of @PunjabiLegends_ #T10League to spend time with my family. This was a tough decision (sp since my wife thinks I should play) but I want to be with my wife and son more than anything else. Hope you all will understand," Malik tweeted.

In T10 2017, Malik was the second highest run-scorer for Punjab Legends with 191 runs in five matches at an excellent average of 63.66 behind Luke Ronchi's 197 runs. These two were also the top two run-scorers of the tournament last year and which shows how much Legends are going to miss the experience of Malik in the upcoming season of T10 league, which is scheduled to begin on November 21 in Sharjah.

Malik recently got off from national duty where he was a part of the Pakistan squad that are playing New Zealand in the UAE. Pakistan clean swept the Kiwis in the three-match T20I series before the ODI series ended in a 1-1 draw after the decider third match got washed out due to the rain.

Although the two teams are set to play a three-match Test series as well, Malik is not a part of the squad.
