The duo of Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root became Dhoni’s victims and that put Kuldeep on a hat-trick in the 14th over. The two dismissals happened on the over’s third and the fourth balls before Mooen Ali defended the fifth delivery to deny Kuldeep a sensational hat-trick on the English soil.

Kuldeep after his 3.4 overs has five wickets and has given away just 13 runs. An impressed Sachin Tendulkar tweeted, “Amazing spell by @imkuldeep18 England failing to read Kuldeep’s wrist position.”

Earlier, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl in their opening T20 International match against England here today.
