Chasing Pakistan’s tricky target of 134, Mithali struck her 16th T20I half-century as her 47-ball 56 guided Harmanpreet Kaur’s team to victory in the penultimate over of the chase.

The Indian bowlers maintained their discipline to restrict the opposition to 133/7 in 20 overs despite some dropped catches in the field, with Poonam Yadav and Dayalan Hemalatha taking two wickets apiece. India thus avenged their defeat to the arch-rivals in the 2016 ICC edition of the event, where they went down by two runs in New Delhi.
