Pacer Deepak Chahar went on his knees after Chennai Super Kings' match against Punjab Kings and his girlfriend said yes.
It may be a tough outing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as they lost to Punjab Kings in just 13 overs, but the evening became memorable for the pace bowler Deepak Chahar, who proposed to his girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj after the game in a surprise for her and she also said yes.
After the video went viral on social media, shared by Chahar himself, many wondered who was the girl as no one had seen her before and some thought if she was a foreigner. However, Chahar, elder sister, who is a model and an actor herself clarified on Twitter that she is an Indian and is from Delhi.
Jaya Bhardwaj is a Delhi girl working in a corporate firm. She and Deepak have been dating for a while and she travelled with him for the second leg of the IPL 2021 in the UAE.
According to several media reports, Jaya is the sister of former Bigg Boss contestant Siddharth Bhardwaj, who is a TV actor and has also appeared on Splitsvilla 2.
Chahar followed the footsteps of many of his teammates such as Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal having introduced her girlfriend and now fiancee to the Indian team and the adorable couple will tied the knot after returning home following the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 in which Chahar is part of the Indian team as the travelling reserve.
Chahar uploaded the video of the same on his Instagram, where it could be seen that Chahar was asking MS Dhoni's daughter Ziva to go to a side and create some space for him to bend on his knees and pro[pose and surprise Jaya with the ring as he had brought rings for both himself and Jaya as well.
While the CSK CEO, friends, families of other CSK cricketers cheered for him, fans and everyone on social media also congratulated the couple.
