The match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) was worth all the penny as the latter team's pacer Kartik Tyagi gave away just one run in the last over to script a miraculous win for his side.

While all were enjoying the win, a social media post has seemed to spark the interest of the Board of Control for Cricket in Indian (BCCI).

The cricketing body is known to have a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) – headed by Shabir Hussein Shekhadam Khandwawala – is currently keeping a close eye on the Indian Premier League (IPL) being played in UAE.

They are now specifically keeping a keen eye on Punjab Kings batsman Deepak Hooda's post on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the game against Rajasthan Royals.

The social media post will be checked by the ACU team to see if it breaches the anti-corruption guidelines. Speaking to the news agency ANI, an ACU official said they will definitely look into it to see if it violates the rules set by the BCCI ACU.

"ACU will look into this post. Our restrictions are that there shall not be any talk about the composition of the team,” the official said.

So what was in the post?

Hooda, around 2 pm, had posted a picture that shows him putting on the team helmet. He wrote: "Here we go @punjabkingsipl #pbksvsrr #ipl2021 #saddapunjab."

As the officials suspect, this post violates the anti-corruption guidelines and the ACU team will investigate the matter. An ACU official said while the Instagram post missed the team, they will definitely look into it to see if it violates the rules set by the BCCI ACU.

When asked how cricketers should react to social media messages from fans and followers, the official said: "There is a guideline on the dos and don’ts.”

Just ahead of the last year's IPL in UAE, former ACU chief Ajit Singh had said that social media interactions were being monitored.

"See, while the number of venues is less, the hurdles of physical movement due to the coronavirus pandemic also means that approaches if any will be made through social media. So, we are going to be closely monitoring the same and ensuring that there is nothing that escapes the team’s eyes," Inside Sports had quoted Ajit Singh as saying.

As for Hooda's performance against Rajasthan. he failed to make a mark as he bagged a two-ball duck. The KL Rahul-led side will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on September 25 in Sharjah.
