Like Gautam Gambhir the cricketer but not as a human being: Shahid Afridi

Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi recently said that even though he has issues with Gautam Gambhir as a human being but there is no denying that he likes the former Indian opener as a batsman.

Ever since that iconic clash happened between Afridi and Gambhir during India vs Pakistan ODI match in Kapur back in 2007, the duo has shared a much fiery relationship with each other.

However, that has not stopped the former Pak allrounder from praising Gambhir's undoubtedly abilities with the cricket bat.

"As a cricketer, as a batsman, I’ve liked him always but as a human being he sometimes says certain things, gives certain treatment that you feel just let it be, he has some problems. His physio has already highlighted that," Afridi to Zainab Abbas in an interview.

Afridi spoke on the comments by Paddy Upton, who had pointed out how Gambhir behaved after scoring a century and stressing on the mistakes he made.

"Using the popular notion of mental toughness, he was one of the weakest and mentally most insecure’ people I have worked with," Upton had written.

Previously, Gambhir had bashed Afridi for his controversial comment on Kashmir.

"Pak has 7 lakh force backed by 20 Cr ppl says 16 yr old man @SAfridiOfficial. Yet begging for Kashmir for 70 yrs. Jokers like Afridi, Imran & Bajwa can spew venom against India & PM @narendramodi ji to fool Pak ppl but won't get Kashmir till judgment day! Remember Bangladesh?" Gambhir wrote on Twitter.
