Kapil Dev's ad look trends after Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh rumoured to bid for new IPL team

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has just come to an end in the UAE and this was the last time fans saw their favourite teams together. Now for the new season, all players will be added to the mega auction, with two new teams also making their debut.

Now amid all this, it is to be believed that Bollywood superstar couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh may end up owing a team. As soon as this news broke out, fans started a meme fest and spoke about how 'colourful' the jersey of this team would look owing to Ranveer Singh's fashion.

Not just that, Kapil Dev's ad for CRED made the rounds on social media related to the IPL news. The ad video had shown the World Cup-winning Indian captain, imitating actor Ranveer Singh. 

The video showed Kapil Dev in different settings as the shot opened with him sitting for a photograph of "veteran" cricketers - but wearing an all-pink dress. In the rest of the ad, he goes on to wear several outfits, including one in which there are sparkles like silver and in another, a gold-painted leg, armour and helmet. 

This is the way fans merged this two news and made a meme of the same.

As far as the IPL is concerned, apart from the Adanis and the RP-Sanjeev Goenka Group, the Glazer family, the owners of English Premier League giants Manchester United, have also shown interest.

Among those who have picked up bids, documents are pharma companies like Torrent Pharma and Aurobindo Pharma. A Singapore-based private equity firm and US-based venture capitalists have also shown interest. Naveen Jindal (Jindal Power and Steel) and entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala are also in talks about the same.
