Bumrah was rewarded for his consistency with a spot in the test squad. Bumrah made his debut in longest format of the game on Friday getting the cap from captain Virat Kohli.

Bumrah is also known for his ability to take big and important wickets. This was also on display on Friday as he claimed the wicket of AB de Villiers at a very crucial time. It was also not a bad wicket to start one's test career.

Interestingly, Bumrah has a knack of dismissing the most talented bastmen of the age as he first victims. Bumrah has accounted for batsmen like Virat Kohli, Steven Smith, David Warner and now AB de Villiers as his first wickets.

When Bumrah made his IPL debut in 2013 for Mumbai Indians, he claimed Virat Kohli as his first wicket. Bumrah then played his first ODI and T20I matches in 2016 against Australia, claiming Steve Smith and David Warner as his first victims. Now he has added AB de Villiers to the set as his first test wicket.
