Three balls and 2 wickets: James Anderson sends Shubman Gill for 50, Ajinkya Rahane for a duck

While all expected India put on a strong fight on Day 5 of the first Test, England's James Anderson turned the game on its head in a matter of three deliveries.

Indian opener Shubman Gill, who had just reached his half-century was bowled by a ripper. The good length ball pitched around off-stump and nipped back in.

Gill moved forward but he was late in closing the bat-pad gap as the ball went past that and uprooted the off-peg. 

After his dismissal, India's vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane came to the crease but he faced a ball that England though should have been LBW.

England reviewed it for an LBW. The impact was the only question as UltraEdge showed a flat line. So with no bat involved, ball-tracking showed impact is umpire's call. England retained their review.

While Rahane got saved on his first ball, he was, however, sent back immediately in the next. Rahane was also bowled as Anderson sent the off-stump cartwheeling. The ball was reversed and kept low and it was very similar to the Gill dismissal. 

The ball curled in from a fullish length and Rahane moved across to defend, but was defeated by the lack of bounce and the inward movement and he went for a duck.

India are currently 100 for 4 after 30 overs and need 316 runs to win. Indian skipper Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant are at the crease.
