After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to restrict Rajasthan Royals to a decent score of 144 runs. The RCB started off well in their bowling department as they got 3 wickets during the powerplay overs and that included the all-important wicket of the ' Orange cap' holder Jos Buttler who managed to score 8 runs.

Coming to RCB's run-chase, Virat Kohli opened the batting with Faf du Plessis during this innings and he looked good during the start of his innings as he scored 2 boundaries in the 1st over. But, soon he was caught out by the wicketkeeper while trying to play a pull shot against Prasidh Krishna. Virat Kohli scored 9 runs during his innings.
