India skipper Virat Kohli recently decided to not only step down from T20I captaincy after the ICC T20 World Cup in October this year but also Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) captaincy from the next edition of IPL.

After RCB exited IPL 2021 on Monday night after losing to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Virat Kohli's sister Bhawna Kohli Dhingra took to her Instagram story and posted an emotional message for her brother.

Reflecting on Virat's journey and his last outing as RCB's captain, sister Bhawna wrote on Instagram, "You gave your best as a captain. You have always held your shoulders high no matter how tough the situation was. You are and will always be a remarkable captain, a name synonym with RCB captaincy. Forever worthy of respect and adulation. Proud of you brother."

RCB's IPL campaign came to an end yesterday during the Eliminator match as KKR won the match with 4 wickets to spare. RCB had batted first and given a target of 138 runs to the Eoin Morgan-led team.

Before the second edition of IPL 2021 began in the UAE, earlier in September, Kohli had announced that the 14th edition of the competition - in 2021 - would be his last one as a Bangalore skipper.

Last night, after his team lost, though Virat Kohli confirmed that he will no longer continue in the captain's role for the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, but that he has no intention of leaving the franchise or the RCB.
