Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli became the first Indian batter to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket. Kohli, who has played for Delhi in domestic cricket, RCB in the IPL and the Indian team in this format became only the fifth player in the world to achieve this milestone.

Kohli achieved the feat in Match No 39 of IPL 2021 against Mumbai Indians hitting a six off Jasprit Bumrah over the deep square leg as he needed just 13 runs to reach the feat.
The 32-year old has joined the likes of Chris Gayle (14,275 runs), Kieron Pollard (11,195), Shoaib Malik (10,808 runs) and David Warner (10,019 runs) in the list and has the highest average among the five batters of 41.61.
Kohli added some runs to that on Sunday evening as well notching up his second consecutive fifty in the ongoing IPL 2021.
Mumbai Indians earlier won the toss and chose to bowl first as RCB were batting first again, for the eighth game in a row in the UAE as they have lost two games in the second half and five games on the trot in the last season and would hope to break that unwanted streak if they have to go further in this tournament.
