The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) came back to winning ways after two consecutive losses in the second half of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) thereby ending their 7-match losing streak in the UAE. With that win, RCB consolidated their position in the third spot with six wins in 10 games.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, were comfortably beaten by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a major upset as they are now caught in a middle-muddle in the points table with just four wins in 10 games, but they still have the destiny in their own hands.
The men in red have enjoyed a little dominance over their Royal counterparts having won three of the last five encounters between the two sides, with Royals winning one and one was washed out.
Head-to-head: 24 games, RCB - 11, RR - 10, NR - 3
The Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals have faced each other 24 times in the 11 seasons of the IPL (the Royals were suspended for 2016 and 2017 seasons) since the inception of the lucrative league in 2008 and the Virat Kohli-led side are just ahead marginally winning 11 games, while the Royals have won 10, with the three games being washed out due to rain.
The last time these two sides met RCB thrashed RR by 10 wickets owing to a superb opening partnership between skipper Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal and the latter went on to smash his maiden century in the IPL as RCB chased down 178 runs with 21 balls to spare.

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli, is the leading run-scorer in the RR vs RCB clashes with 554 runs followed by the ageless superstar AB de Villiers, who has 484 runs to his name against the Royals. Former Rajasthan Royals batsman Ajinkya Rahane is on the third spot with 347 runs.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the leading wicket-taker
Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has the most wickets to his name for a bowler in the RR vs RCB games, with 16 scalps. He is followed by Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal, who has dismissed Kohli and De Villiers a few times now, with 14 wickets.
